About

Many of my works are like a diary. The figure in a landscape, the human condition explored through my own daily life and relationships. Nature and dance were a large part of my life growing up in Oregon, so the gesture of the human figure has always drawn me in. We speak loudest without talking.

My theme of “Internal States” explores human gestures  to communicate these universal internal emotional states, mixed with the spiritual metaphors of water and light that connect us all. My personal works use a captured moment in my family’s lives and their search for meaning and direction in life. How to grow up, find happiness and follow the cycles of change we face. That happiness is often out of reach for all humanity and it is expressed in my theme “Lost in Paradise” which uses the juxtaposition of a figure set in a “paradise”,  yet feeling empty.
